The Almighty Dominance

Chapter 330

"You want me to heal your husband, and yet you dare threaten me?"

Alex laughed bitterly, shaking his head. “You've got to be joking.”

Laura's eyes darkened, venom lacing every word. "You're like someone who needs to see their own coffin to realize they're dying."

"Fine. If you won't save him now, mark my words-when you're on your knees, bleeding, bones shattered, begging for mercy—it'll be too late. This is your final chance to reconsider before things get ugly."

Alex met her fury with a calm defiance.

"Sorry, not interested." He turned sharply toward the exit.

Just then, chaos erupted near the hospital's entrance. All heads snapped up as a military vehicle roared into view, skidding to a halt.

The soldiers leapt out, fully armed, their faces grim and lethal. People scattered, a path clearing as if by instinct alone.

Sophia's eyes widened in shock. "The military? Here? Are they arresting someone?"

Laura smirked wickedly. "Alex, this is your very last chance."

Lyra shot a glare at Laura, disgusted. “You're really resorting to dirty tricks now, aren't you?"

Before anyone could respond, a sharp command echoed through the air. “Surround them, now!"

In seconds, Alex, Sophia, and Lyra were ringed by armed soldiers, their weapons aimed coldly. Sophia's breath hitched, color draining from her face. She'd been expecting to watch a confrontation, but never imagined she'd end up in the center of it.

The captain stepped forward, his voice icy and authoritative. "Alex, you're under arrest. Resist, and we'll put you down on the spot.”

Sophia's voice trembled. "Wait! There must be some kind of mistake—"

The captain cut her off ruthlessly. "Anyone interfering will be treated as an accomplice and face the same charges."noveldrama

Laura laughed triumphantly, relishing her victory. “Now, Alex, can you see your coffin yet? Are you ready to save my husband now?"

Alex stared at her coldly, unwavering.

“Listen carefully—I'm the only one capable of saving your husband. Without me, he dies. But honestly? Watching him die might be more satisfying.”

Laura's rage boiled over, her hands shaking as she hurled her smartphone straight at Alex's face.

Without missing a beat, he swatted it away effortlessly, the device shattering on the ground.

"Grab him! Torture him until he begs for mercy!" Laura shouted, her voice raw with hatred.

The military captain nodded sharply. “Yes, ma'am."

Soldiers moved in swiftly. Lyra and Sophia trembled, eyes wide in terror, paralyzed by the sudden violence.

Alex placed steadying hands on their shoulders. "Stay calm. They're only here for me. Wait here—I promise, I'll be back soon."

Lyra hesitated, fear clear in her eyes. "Are you sure about this?"

“Trust me,” Alex said firmly. “They can't hurt me.”

“Thanks, Alex,” Lyra murmured softly. "But please don't blame me for any of this."

He offered a reassuring smile. “Don't worry about small things. Sometimes you just have to let it go."

Sophia reached out, still shaking. “Alex—”

He gave her a gentle look, unwavering. “It's nothing."

How could this be nothing, Sophia wondered desperately, watching the soldiers advance. But right now, she was powerless.

Laura shouted once more, her voice trembling with fury and desperation. “Alex, this is your last chance!" Alex didn't hesitate. "I don't want it."

Laura froze, disbelief etched deep in her face. How could he reject her even now, when his life was hanging by a thread? Did he really have no fear of death?

Alex felt Sophia's fingers digging desperately into his sleeve.

“Alex, please,” she pleaded. Her voice trembled, thick with worry.

"Think clearly. Your life is on the line. Only Laura can help now. Just swallow your pride and help my uncle!"

But Alex shook his head stubbornly. His eyes narrowed at the military vehicles parked nearby, their Chicago plates unmistakable.

"I don't like her attitude. I won't bow to anyone like her."

Laura's voice sliced sharply through the tense air, full of contempt.

"You idiot. You're knocking on death's door, yet you still cling to your ridiculous pride. I guarantee you'll come crawling back, begging and crying at my feet."

Sophia's face twisted with anxiety. She clung harder, her eyes desperate. “Alex, I'm begging you—just agree to her demands!"

Sophia knew ordinary people couldn't fight officers. High-ranking military officers could crush civilians like bugs.

One word from them and you'd vanish without a trace.

"Enough talk!" barked the captain, clearly irritated. “Take him away!"

His soldiers moved instantly, cuffing Alex and shoving him roughly into the car.

Within moments, the troop departed with cold, efficient precision, leaving a stunned silence behind.

Sophia stared helplessly after them, panic rising in her chest. She had no connections powerful enough to reach the military-let alone to save Alex.

Desperation turned her toward Laura. “Laura, please! Let him go."

Laura smirked coldly. "I offered him kindness once. He spat it back in my face. It's not my problem anymore.”

Lyra stepped forward abruptly, confronting Laura with an icy stare.

"Don't you get it? Alex won't blame me for introducing him to you-but you're going to hurt him. Do you have any idea how guilty I'll feel? How much I'll hate myself for letting this happen?"

"That's your problem," Laura scoffed.

"You're right.” Lyra's lips curled into a bitter smile. Her voice dropped to a dangerous softness.

"You know, when my father was

exiled by the Chicago lord, my entire

life shattered. I thought I had hopez

when he fought the Kingston governor, but he lost again-and my mother, too. I was so depressed I considered ending my life."

Laura snorted dismissively. “Again, that's your problem. I couldn't care less.”

Lyra's smile widened eerily. "Exactly. That's what I realized. No one would

care if died. So why should I end myself quietly? Why not burn this whole damn world down first and let it kill me instead?"

Laura sneered, irritated. “Why are you rambling, Lyra? What's your point?”

"Here's my point.” Lyra calmly reached into her bag as casually as if searching for makeup. With sudden, fierce precision, she pulled out a small knife and plunged it into Laura's stomach.

Laura staggered, eyes wide with shock, her voice shaking, "You...what are you doing?"

Lyra leaned in close, whispering coldly, "You were so arrogant, I thought nothing could ever touch you. Turns out you bleed just like me."

Lyra's voice grew colder still. “Laura, I told you—I'm not afraid of death, and I'm certainly not afraid of you. We can both go to hell, for all I care, but how dare you threaten my Alex!"

Laura's bodyguards lunged forward, but Lyra swiftly drew a handgun from her hand bag. Two precise shots echoed sharply, dropping both guards instantly.

Laura collapsed to her knees, blood spilling from her wound as stunned doctors and nurses stared in horror, drawn by the commotion.

Lyra sneered cruelly down at her. "I'll let you live for now. But listen closely. If Alex dies, I'll find you and bury you with every cent I have."

As Lyra turned slowly away, she tossed back one last chilling warning. “If you're capable of dying, Laura, don't act so arrogant. You've only got one life."
