The Bad Boy Next Room (Charlie and Taylor)

Chapter 44

'Well, that wasn't so comforting,' Charlie thought. Her relationship with Taylor wasn't even official yet, but she was already feeling the anxiety!

"Well, I'll try to be open-minded," Charlie said. "Wait, we didn't finish our conversation earlier. Who in your family is involved in politics now?"

Before Taylor could answer, Tristan looked at Charlie and said, "My mom is City Hall's Director of Finance."

"Oh, so it's your mom then?" Charlie clarified.

"Um-" Taylor wavered, running his hand through his golden hair. He said, "Um. Charlie, I'm a Carrington, remember?"

Charlie frowned. 'Why did he remind me of his middle name?'

"Carrington,” she echoed. Then, it hit her. Charlie searched on her phone. She strengthened her voice when she found the name. "Governor Douglas Carrington?"

"Yep!" Taylor and Tristan said at the same time.

"That's Grandpa," Tristan revealed.

"It's Grandpa's second term as governor, but before that, he was the town's mayor for twelve years," Taylor explained. "My aunt, Tanya's mom, was elected mayor six years ago, but after just one term, she decided to focus on running the family business-"

"And that is?" Charlie asked.

"There is a Carrington nut plantation just outside Luxford," Tristan revealed.

"A plantation? That must be fun!" Charlie exclaimed.

"If you want to go, we can go there. Right, Taylor?" Tristan said.

Charlie turned to Taylor excitedly. She had never been to a farm, so she looked forward to it. "Can we?"

"Do you want to harvest nuts, Charlie?" Taylor asked.

"I love nuts!" Charlie exclaimed. "I love almonds, and I love pistachios the most!"

"Okay, Babe," Taylor said, pulling her closer. "I'll schedule a visit soon. In the meantime, we have a good amount of nuts in the pantry. We can take them to the condo."

He pressed his lips against her ear, saying, "I also happen to carry nuts all the time."

“Ha?” Charlie leaned back, confused. "I don't see you eating nuts!"

A mischievous grin spread across his face as he clarified, "Not that kind of nuts."noveldrama

Charlie instantly gave him the finger, saying, "I don't eat those kinds of nuts!"

Taylor laughed his heart out. He pulled her hand down, responding, "You're getting the hang of this, Charlie." He wavered and whispered again, "But if not nuts, then there's another part of me you can eat-"

"No!" Charlie violently objected. She was so mad she elbowed his stomach with all her might!

"What the Damn, Babe. That was strong!" Taylor complained.

"I'm not eating that, either!" Charlie declared.

"Okay. Okay, I'm sorry," Taylor said, chuckling.

"Eating what?" Tristan asked, curious about what they were arguing about.

"It's nothing, Tristan," Taylor said, still amused. "Continue reading your book."

Because Charlie had her arms

crossed, and her frown was evident,

Taylor hugged her to one side again.

He said, "I'm sorry. It was just a joke. Green joke, but you know, couples get there eventually."

"We are not even a real couple yet!" Although whispering, she firmly reminded

him. "Besides, what's the pleasure in doing oral?"

"It's—" Taylor tried to hold his laugh again. "You know—"

When Charlie Just glowered, Taylor's expression changed. He ran his hand over his face and leaned back Taylor hesitated, his eyes panning from left to right. Then, he moved closer, asking, "You mean to say Sullivan didn't-"

"No!" Charlie loudly objected.

"Well, I'm glad I'll be the first, then," Taylor said confidently.

Again, Charlie glared at him, and seeing her expression, he gulped and said, with

a hand gesture, "In the near future?"

When Charlie's nose flared in irritation, he corrected himself, "In the distant future?"

Charlie was still upset, and Taylor was clearly worried. He took it back, saying, "No matter how long it takes?"

"Or..." He frowned and painfully gave in, "We could just adopt?"

Charlie: "..."

Because Charlie said nothing, Taylor said flatly, "I guess we could both enter the monastery. Anywhere is fine, as long as we're together. Hearts united. Sex doesn't matter."

Charlie: "..."

'Monastery?' From being angry, Charlie wanted to laugh, but before she could, the double doors to the manor opened. Two tall figures entered.

"Taylor, who is your friend?"
