She's the Campus Prince

Chapter 692

After breakfast, Bradley settled onto the living room couch, waiting for Cameron to get dressed in her room.

Gavin, sitting across from Bradley, asked in an unfriendly manner. "Hey, you. You've delivered your good news. Why are you still here?"

"Gavin!" Jacqueline stepped in, giving him a light smack. "Why're you so rude?"

Jacqueline understood how Gavin felt. But Cam was already an adult, who'd date and get married anyway. As her eldest brother, Gavin'd gone too far acting like this toward her boyfriend.

Bradley waved his hand. "Mrs. Yates, it's no big deal. I know Gavin's just joking with me. It's Saturday, and I've got plans with Cam. We'll go out together in a bit."

Levi, still reading financial news on his iPad, looked up. "Weekends are meant for fun. Remember to come back for dinner tonight."

Bradley's smile widened. "Of course, Mr. Yates."

Jacqueline smiled warmly, "Brad, since you're living alone in Viremont and you gotta drive Cam to and from work every day, why not just come over for breakfast and dinner? It'll save you the trouble of cooking by yourself."

Bradley's smile widened even more. "That'd be great. Thanks, Mrs. Yates."

Hearing what they said, Gavin was speechless.

'He's really making himself at home already? But he's just her boyfriend. Are they serious?' Gavin wondered unhappily.

Gavin finally muttered under his breath, "Someone's really so thick-skinned that he actually took some polite remarks seriously."

Jacqueline and Levi looked at him with a scowl.

Bradley also heard every word, but just acted like he didn't.

Honestly, Bradley didn't care what Gavin thought of him. As long as Levi, Jacqueline, and Cameron accepted him, that was

all that mattered.

Once Gavin also started dating someone, he probably wouldn't have time to meddle in their affairs.

Busy with her makeup and trying on a few different outfits, it took Cameron a while to come downstairs.

As she stood on the stairs, it was like the whole world lit up because of her appearance.

The black dress on her showed off her pretty, slender shoulders and her sexy collarbones. She twisted her st bun and pinned it at the back of her head, revealing her graceful neck.

Her beautiful face, with a hint of masculinity, was enhanced by delicate, flawless makeup.

Cameron descended the stairs gracefully in her flats, one hand lightly resting on the railing.

Almost in unison, both Gavin and Bradley stood up from the couch.

"You look absolutely gorgeous today, Cam," Jacqueline said, her face beaming with pleasure.

Levi looked every bit a proud father. "She's my darling daughter, how could she not be beautiful?"

Cameron smiled, a little shy. "Just freshened up a bit, that's all.”

After a moment of stunned silence, Gavin rushed over to Cameron, beating Bradley to the punch. "Cam, I'm free today.

How about I take you out instead?"

Cameron glanced at Bradley, then said. "Gavin, I've already made plans with Brad."

Gavin quickly shifted to block Bradley's way. "Oh, he just got something urgent to handle in his family, so he can't make

it."

Knowing he was lying, Bradley didn't know what to say.

Levi couldn't stand it anymore. "Gavin, stop messing around. If you're really that bored, I'll have your mom arrange ten blind dates for you, and you gotta meet every single one of them today."

Gavin was stunned, while Bradley walked around him and came up to Cameron.

Bradley's eyes were practically shining with excitement. "Cam, you're so beautiful."

She looked cool in a suit, but in a dress, she was even more gorgeous so that he could barely take his eyes off her.

He stretched out his hand as Cameron took it with a smile. "Thanks."

Jacqueline beamed. "Have fun, Cam, Brad. And don't forget to come back for dinner tonight."

"Got it, Mom," Cameron replied.

"Sure thing, Mrs. Yates," Bradley added.

"Alright, off you go," Jacqueline said, waving goodbye to them with a smile.

Cameron and Bradley walked out hand in hand.

When they got to the car, Bradley opened the front passenger door for Cameron

like a gentleman, but she just nudged him toward the seat and made him get in instead.

"Brad, let me drive today," she said with a grin.

She'd even worn flats just for it.

Cameron hopped into the driver's seat and started the car.

Bradley smiled, his eyes full of laughter behind his glasses. "It's still early, Cam.

We can't catch a movie yet. Where do you want to go?"

Cameron turned to him, a smile playing on her lips. "Brad, I'm taking you somewhere special."

Bradley's curiosity was piqued. "Where's that?""

Cameron replied, "A place we've been before."

Hearing that, Bradley fell silent, and his smile even froze for a few seconds before

he said, "Cam, I'm sorry. I really don't

remember."

Cameron kept her eyes on the road and comforted softly, "It's fine, Brad. Really."

Cameron drove the whole way, and Bradley, meanwhile, couldn't tear his eyes away from her for even a second.

It wasn't until Cameron parked the car that Bradley realized they'd arrived. "Already? That was fast."

Bradley turned to look out the window, and to his surprise, they were at the riverfront.

Although in summer, since it was still morning, it wasn't too hot yet, and there were plenty of people walking or jogging along the river.

Still, the riverfront in the daytime during summer was definitely not an ideal date

spot.

After all, it'd be blazing hot out here by noon-more than a hundred degrees F. Cameron nodded. "We're here, Brad. Let's get out."

After stepping out of the car, Bradley saw a soft breeze snatched at the hem of Cameron's dress, as the river glinted in the sunlight behind her, setting off her beauty.

'And this breathtaking girl belongs to me,' Bradley thought and smiled even wider.

He strode over to Cameron and laced his fingers with hers, showing he was her boyfriend.

Their fingers were intertwined together, just like always.

Cameron looked back at him with a dazzling smile. "Brad, let's go sit over there."

There were plenty of benches along the riverside, and they sat down on one of them.

Cameron quietly gazed out at the river, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

With a smile, Bradley asked, "What's got you smiling, Cam?"

Cameron turned to him. "Brad, do you know why the last time I came here for some fresh air?"

Bradley shook his head, naturally unaware of it.

He really wanted to remember everything he'd been through with Cameron, but

Eddie was unwilling to give him a hand.

"Was I with you that time?" Bradley asked.

Cameron nodded. "Yeah."

Bradley was curious. "Then why did we come here?"

Cameron said, “Back then, I was desperate to cut ties with my adoptive parents,

but they just kept refusing. In the end. with your help, I finally got them to disown

me."

Bradley vaguely remembered Jackson, his law firm partner, mentioning that he'd once helped a girl named Cameron Wallace deny her adoptive parents. Cameron looked up at the blazing sun. "You know what, Brad? That was the happiest day in all eighteen years of my life. We were together all day, flying kites by the river. That night, we felt the river breeze and even had roast lamb on the

boat

"That day," Cameron leaned her head against Bradley's shoulder, "I was genuinely happy."

It was Bradley who had given her happiness that day.

And on her very first night in Room 316, Elijah disdained her for being a slacker and warned her not to mess up his study time, while Xander tried to barge into the bathroom when she was bathing. Only Bradley got her out of trouble. When she was reborn, Bradley was the very first person to show her any real kindness.

When she had nowhere to go, it was also Bradley who lent her a huge sum so she could buy a place of her own.

And later, he even bought a castle just so she could raise the tiger Pearl there.

Again and again, he was always there for her, helping her every time she was in need.

Cameron wasn't someone with a heart of stone, but she'd been uncertain of her feelings back then. Even Amelia, out of the picture, could see through her better than she could herself.

Leaning against Bradley's shoulder, Cameron gazed out at the river, feeling at

peace.

She'd never really imagined what the one she loved would look like.noveldrama

But after seven years of keeping her distance from everyone around her, she

realized that, for her, it should be Bradley.

With him, she always felt happy and reassured.

As Cameron leaned in, Bradley put his arm around her, drawing her close to him.

With a smile, he asked, "Cam, are you

happy because I'm here with you?"

Cameron looked up at him and nodded. "Yes."

Bradley smiled softly, then bent down and kissed her forehead lightly. "If only I

could remember."

Cameron nestled against his chest and said, "It's okay if you can't. We'll just make

even more wonderful memories,

Bradley subtly tightened his arm around her shoulder, and they both remained

By ten o'clock, it was getting much hotter.

Cameron said, "Brad, let's find somewhere cooler to hang out."

At this rate, if they stayed out here any longer, they'd get heatstroke.

"Okay," Bradley replied.

They got in the car and left the riverfront. This time, Cameron sat in the front passenger seat.

Bradley smiled and asked, "Cam, where do you want to go?"

Cameron smiled, "Where were

Without wasting any time, Bradley took Cameron straight to the jewelry store on

the first floor.

The saleswoman greeted them with extra enthusiasm, while Bradley held

Cameron's hand tightly as they walked in.

Cameron asked, "Are you getting something?"

Bradley replied, "I'm here to buy you a ring."

Hearing that, Cameron was stunned.

'We've only been dating for less than a week, yet he's already gonna buy me a

ring?' Cameron thought in disbelief.

Bradley smiled, "Don't worry, Cam. It's not a wedding ring. I just want to get you

something to wear, so everyone knows you're spoken for.”

Bradley wasn't going to buy ready-made wedding rings anyway.

His third brother, Eric, owned a company that bought two diamond mines

overseas, so they'd got an endless supply of raw

materials.

Today, he just brought Cameron here to measure her finger size.

That way, when the time was ripe, he could directly ask Eric to design a custom wedding ring just for her.

Of course, he couldn't let Cameron in on this yet. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a real

surprise.

Cameron didn't know what to say when hearing his

Cameron said, "Alright, pick one then."/

But in the end, Bradley went straight for the priciest diamond ring in the store,

costing 230 thousand dollars.

Money wasn't an issue for Cameron anymore-230 grands was nothing to speak

of to her now.

Still, she turned him down. Cameron shook her head. "Brad, I don't really like that

design."

Bradley nodded. "Which one do you like, Cam?"

Cameron said, "I prefer gold."

Bradley was confused when hearing that.

'Aren't all girls supposed to love diamonds?' Bradley wondered. 'Am I just behind

the times?"

In the end, at Cameron's request, Bradley bought her a gold ring that cost just a

few thousand dollars.

Cameron smiled, "It's very nice."

Honestly, she thought it looked even better than that pricey diamond rock.

Bradley couldn't help but feel it was a bit too cheap. So he even picked out a gold bracelet for Cameron.

Cameron wanted to buy him a gift in return, but Bradley turned her down.

He grinned, "Relax, Cam. Even if I don't wear a ring, no one would dare try to hit

on me."

There weren't many people bold enough to chase someone from his law firm. But

if anyone really wanted to have a try, they'd better make sure they'd got the brains

for it first.

Cameron couldn't help but laugh.

After leaving the jewelry store, they passed by the arcade's claw machines on the

first floor, and Cameron stopped in her

tracks.

Bradley smiled, "Wanna play? I'll go get some tokens."

Cameron grinned, "Okay."

Bradley soon came back after exchanging about a hundred tokens.

Cameron took the basket. "Brad, you got so many tokens, and the owner's gonna

be in tears later."

Bradley asked, "Why?" And it didn't take long for Bradley to find out the reason.

Soon enough, his arms were full of all the stuffed toys Cameron had got from the machines.

"Oh dear, she's really something!" A passerby couldn't help but praise.

Soon, a bunch of girls gathered around Cameron, watching her in awe.

They were working so hard just to grab one or two stuffed toys.

But Cameron? Every time she dropped a token into the machine, she'd definitely

grab a plush doll.

Everyone around was freaked out by it, showering her with praise.

13:41, Wed, 30 JUJAJ

After winning dozens of stuffed toys Cameron still had a ton of tokens left.

After all the dolls in the claw machine were grabbed by her, Cameron turned to

the next one, while the girls watching her

were full of envy.

"Hey, are you selling any of those dolls? Can I buy one? Grabbing it is out of the

question!" One girl finally asked.

Cameron just grinned, “Sure."

"How much is it? I want one too!" Another one chimed in, and soon, the other girls

started asking as well.

Cameron replied, "Just give

me the tokens, whatever you think is fair."

In the end, all the dolls Cameron got ended up being traded tokens, and she only

kept three for herself, including a bunny, a piglet, and a frog.

Then Cameron dropped all the tokens those girls gave her into the claw

machines.

Bradley chuckled, "Cam, since you didn't even want the tokens, why didn't you

just give the dolls away for free?" Cameron's lips curled into a smile. “I was worried the owner might really cry."

Bradley gave her a doting look and smiled, "Looks like it's about time for lunch. Let's go eat."

They picked the most popular restaurant in the mall and entered, yet it was crowded, so they had to wait for a table first.

While Cameron was in the restroom, Bradley took the chance to call Eddie.

Bradley still couldn't help but want to regain his memories, especially after

learning about all the wonderful moments he⚫ and Cameron had shared

together.

But after calling Eddie twice, he found no one was answering the phone.

So Bradley slipped his phone back into his s pocket, thinking he could try calling Eddie again later tonight. After all, it was

his first date with Cam today, and nothing was more important than that.

After lunch, they could catch a movie at the mall. Then, they'd head back to Yates

Manor together for dinner. Thinking of it, Bradley smiled slightly, feeling really

happy when going out with the one he loved. While they were going on a date, Eddie was in Regalburg. Last night, after getting a boost of courage from Bradley, he'd caught the earliest

flight there. He came to Regalburg for one reason only-he wanted to see Vicki.

But as he got closer, his nerves got the better of him. The moment he arrived in Regalburg, Eddie was already thinking about turning

right back around and catching the next flight home.

Honestly, for a sinner like him, just laying eyes on Vicki was like sacrilege.

But in the end, he just couldn't make himself leave.

Eddie had Vicki's home address, thinking if he could just catch a glimpse of her

from afar, that would be enough for him.

So, he took a cab and got off about 3300 feet away from the Shaw family's villa.
